Interesting how the headlands have fared better. I'll bet the consolidation on them was better which helped the crop retain moisture. I certainly wished I'd double rolled some of mine. Anywhere I had pure chalk or a bit of clay and it was lumpy or puffy the crop has not done as well.
When August & September are normally the wettest months of the year I've never had these problems - it's usually slugs instead. At least pellets still work!

Agree, there are lessons to be learned from organic, a lot are the lessons they have learned through history, and then tailor them to fit whatever system works best for you.I don’t think it’s too late yet ......... we might be cutting things fine however !
The answer is clearly not organic but equally it’s clearly not conventional as we know it either
