Rape

Were looking to plant some forage rape just to give field a break from grass. Would be for ewes over winter. 8 acre field. Is it getting too late to plant now? In South West Scotland. Field has been sprayed off and should finish working it today. Just whether to just reseed it grass or stick with rape idea. Thoughts?

You could go with something like 'Hobson' Forage Rape now very winter hardy ideal in your situation. As you say it will give a nice 'break'.

Go, go, go, whilst the soil still has warmth in it. Don't leave it until later as you get slower early growth.
