Rapid Fix, holed fert bags

Always the way, you are busy, no help on hand, need to shift stuff and you hole a bag of Nitram with the tips of the fork lift.

As usual the hole is half way down the bag and as you know the stuff runs like water.

Hop out the cab with something to stuff in the hole, try and find some silage bag fix tape to wrap it up and the damn stuff till flows out.

almost as bad as when the bag slides down the tine and the loop breaks before you even have chance to drop it on the floor. Used to get lots of that when we had a new machine and the tines were a bit sharp on the edges, once we got a round tubed bag lifter we wondered how the hell we had managed with pallet tines!

when big bags first came out ICI had shaped bits of tin to allow you to run some out of a bag then stop the flow .
I always keep one handy when at the fert

Yep, just wished i took the time to use the bag lift rather than the fork lift tines.....

This is one we made last year, dont normally use the hook on the end, just use the main bar to lift the bags. Mush better lifting capacity and makes unloading curtain siders much easier, and stacking under cover:
