Only have to fence grass land at the moment so hopefully the barrow should speed the job up over the old Rutland hand reels

IME, you’ll be surprised how little the difference it makes tbh. I used Rutland hand reels back home (used for dairy cows in summer), leaving the Rappa barrow in the shed.;)

If you already have the barrow then give it a try, but don’t go overboard on buying reels until you have and are happy with it. That’s only way to decide for yourself really.

My experience of the barrow is that it’s putting the posts out that takes the time (if doing so by hand).

If you’re gonna drive a vehicle round the field to put out the posts, might as well have an ATV winder on it and do the job properly...

Done it like this for years
Hard to see but there is a bar running between quad frame and a tab on the axle of the barrow. Very good for steep ground which is why I made it because the weight is on the ground and I run 800 m on the reels which are heavy.
Negative is bike is a bit away from posts when running by hedges but I have to put one foot on the ground when I pull out posts because I’ve a knackered shoulder and can’t pull them out on the move.
Extra box brilliant for moving everything in one go and room for the dog

@Boydvalley I have sent you a private message about this.

My barrow has sat in the shed for the past year...

Until last week when I was picking up fencing in a steep wet field, lost momentum on the bike and couldn’t get going again.
Drove my truck up around the hill, Parked at the top of the hill and used the winch to pull quad most of the way up onto slightly flatter ground and picked up the last 50 metres of fencing which went up and around a corner with the barrow basically on all 4s...

It can go back in the shed now
