Rappa - Too much play?

as long as its not slipping or jumping a tooth it wouldn't make any difference
I’ve been trying to set them better but nothing I do stops it loading one sided. I’ve pushed them way out to the end of shaft so it goes past the sides of the reel but still loads one sided ( on the inside if that makes sense)
As @unlacedgecko mentioned - it’s the heart plate. Out of desperation on Sunday morning I put some insulation tape on the cam follower to compensate for the wear on the heart. Problem solved immediately . Will keep the bodge until I have time to fit the new plate

Probably not helpful, but mine is winding like this (with stops to pull each stake).

Now I hate to start another debate on this thread but is it just me who looks at that pic and thinks why not a reel top and bottom?
Only time I mount both reels on 1 shaft (other than doing 3 strands) is if I've lost a clamp!
The wires are better positioned for flicking off the stakes at speed imo when one above the other.

Because it’s always been done that way…

You’re just getting pernickety now.😂

That must be the bloke that I spoke to several years ago when I phoned to enquire about a new Rappa barrow. Within a few minutes he'd sold me an ATV Rappa and I didn't even have an ATV at the time.
Thought it was just me!
i went up to pick up a ram and teaser id bought,
Ended coming back with two trailers worth of lambs and full mouth ewes,😅.

How have you got on with them. I’ve got 150 yearlings and ewe lambs out of my tups and I really like them.

Yeah they turned into good ewes,

they where right type for here,
much better then the ones i bought locally, totally different sheep,
but
I’ve made the jump over to exlana,
pretty much the same minus the wool,

Sold them all to local just up the road ,still see them around and he cannot fault them,
The ram went to someone on here.

If i ever wanted get back into the wooly buggers, id be back up buying again.

Could a rappa for an ATV be mounted to run off this old muckspreader wheel? all ridiculing comments welcomed. 7miles of electric fencing out is getting tiresome with the push barrow

In theory I'd say its possible - they do a trailer mounted version anyway to run off a car trailer type set up (their own trailer that will also carry the quad).
Mine was bought 2nd hand as a trailer version and I bought the drive arm to fit the bike so I guess you can do the reverse.
You don't have a quad? I'd be a bit concerned about h&s walking beside that to pick up stakes.

He'd get plastered in muck if he walked behind it...
