And out of interest, apparently it is not uncommon to see rats in Russia having a smoke ........

We used to have some roughish blokes come out of Leeds ratting using a chainsaw, it packed up one weekend and the next weekend they turned up with a brand new Stihl saw! I never asked where it came from!

Got one of these if you want to borrow it................

Now that’s the bees knees for mr Rat
Used ours at the neighbours old grain store the air ducks were full of rats gave it a good 3 to 4 minutes of gas rats going everywhere pressed the ignition switch and promptly blew all the old cement fibre downspouts off the building.🤔
They were pretty good on mole runs as well .

Don't pour petrol down the holes. The old-timers tried it in our quarry many years ago, expecting a dozen rats to emerge, which were to be dispatched with long sticks...
Instead, the ground "heaved 18 inches" and lots more rats came out than they were expecting, some on fire, and some even "left their wee furry coats ahint (behind)"
- How many did you hit with the sticks?
"None, we all stood stock still in fear until the buggers had legged it, there were hundreds o' them!"

Must be a fair few of those knocking about. They were all the rage a few years ago. Never hear of them now
Loads I would think ours is still in the shed somewhere it was a lot more fun watching someone using it than stood there yourself pressing the button. You needed an extra thick pair of pants on or a trench coat .
We made a long lead for ours in the end so you could stand 20 ft back press the button and watch the 💥

Ours is gathering dust now the novelty wore off to be honest !
The remote control trigger upgrade was far better than coming home with shell shock at night by standing next to it

Im not sure how safe these are if your in any proximity to gas lines or pipe lines for commercial or residential. I dont think you'd exist very long if you found one. I thought these were developed in the states for gophers? i cant see these working hugely well for moles? unless someone can put me wrong?
