RDS Artemis cable to CNH pro 700 screen

I asked this question years ago but I can’t find it by searching, probably doing something wrong, I’ve tried making my own and failed back then. I now have the data to go variable rate drilling and would like to connect my Case pro 700 screen to the Artemis box, is anyone doing this, how much is the cable and is there an unlock code required for the screen, it’s the same as the New Holland intelliview. I know I can put an SD card in the RDS box but would rather see some maps on the screen if I can.

  • What do I need to connect a Raven controller to my AFS Display?
  • Please contact your dealer to ensure that the appropriate software is loaded to your AFS display. Additional cabling required is required. The power/data cable (P/N 87732647) is available from your Case IH dealer. A Raven null modem cable will need to be sourced from Raven. If you are using a 100 series Raven controller (440, 460, etc), use Raven null modem P/N 115-0159-822. If you are using a 1000 series Raven controller (4000, 4600, etc), use Raven null modem P/N 115-0171-395.

This is the only way to connect anything to Case AFS Pro700 using a serial cable your best option is to contact RDS direct for the correct cable if one exists, the artemis sends power out of one of the pins in the RS232 port which if it gets to its destination will fry the box. SOYL as a company have always advised customers the only optionwith the AFS 700 is isobus. Im sure somebody out there will correct me

Thanks, I’ve spoken to RDS today, they are not 100% on which cable is required, but he thinks it’s one, after that he’s no idea what the pro 700 might need. This is maybe why I failed last time, all I tried to do was make the RDS box see a satellite for speed.
My tractor is isobus ready but I won’t know how to make the drill isobus ?‍♂️

Currently trying to run artemis with gps feed from trimble but are having issues with it working correctly .Maps loaded onto rds but its not working as should. Tried all sorts so having screen unlocked to load onto trimble as we did with other tractor. This should sort all the issues.

What trimble screen please? What’s the unlock costing roughly, when you had it working before what cable did you have to get them talking?

I’m trying to do variable rate drilling, I’d like the maps on the tractor screen and the Artemis to read them off that screen, the tractor is isobus ready but I wouldn’t know how you make the drill isobus if this is the only route.

Using tmx 2050 and was using serial cable from nav to Artemis for speed / position but couldn’t get speed to read so had to use satspeed for this . Rate side was abit all over would be correct in some zones then default to standard rate in others.works on FMX screen in other tractor so cable from screen to Artemis was Deutsch to serial plugs .
Unlocks not cheap 2k ish.

So it looks like on the RDS website, there is a cable that plugs into the end of the drill cable and then has a ISOBUS plug on that, what makes a bit of equipment ISOBUS, I’m guessing it can’t be just that simple, it’s a Mzuri drill if that helps. Dealer is on the case re cost of unlock code.

Not that simple then! I think you can get that drill isobus but I’m guessing retro fit will be eye watering! Ta.
@Phil P has done a retrofit on his drill and can give you an idea on budget to get it converted:

Hummmm, thanks, so reading through that, the most common comment is about the electric metering isn’t it, my drill already has that, I don’t use the markers or tramline kit, but I guess the drill still needs some sort of brain to tell the isobus screen what to do, as the isobus screen is just a slave screen isn’t it?

Yes correct the isobus task controller is located in the box on the drill, the screen in the tractor is just a compatible display that can display the graphics/buttons etc from the implement control “mask” it downloads when the implement is first connected.

Link to the thread I did on the retro fit.

I’m guessing that if you’ve already got the electric drive and motor controller you’ll just need the isobus task controler as @Pheasant Surprise has already said. I couldn’t tell you how much the task controller is on it’s own as I got the full kit but I’d guess in the region of £600- 1k

Thanks, maybe I’ll start with Mzuri and see if they know. I rang RDS and that chap didn’t know
