Hi @Case290

As @TomR is on holiday this week, I'll pick this up for you, if you can email the files that you have and we can tell you what farm/field numbers the files have been allocated to. There may be a list added also which makes life easier but not always present. I will message you my email address now. There is a manual here - http://www.rds-support.com/resource... LOGGING AND TRANSFER (-384,573)/uk573130.pdf but probably easiest to just talk you through it.

Farm and field number - press start and it should give you a list. If it's only for one farm then it's safe to assume it's farm '01' on the list.
'Fields' on mine is a list of number (01, 02 etc) followed by the first 5 letters of each field. Scroll and select.
If it offers you an option to 'tag' areas for weeds etc click' ignore' (or wording similar).
On the 'main' screen you should now be able to see the rate for that area of the field, assuming your in the field. If you're wondering why it's reading '0', your probably not in the field

Another way is to amalgamate all your plans in to one 'field' and create a whole farm map on a single plan, so you don't have to change plans between starting and finishing sowing.

Yes it select farm no probs
Yes it select field no probs
Yes see list of things which I skip
Then no seeding
Post up a picture of the 'main' screen when it's not seeding (but it should be).
In fact post up pictures of all the screens.

I’m on days not hours. me thinks I is getting therejust goes to zero now when out the fiekd boundary in stead of standard rate
IIRC, it would only drop to a standard rate if it lost GPS. If you leave the field it wouldn't need a rate.

I'm working from memory, as I used to use the PSi8000 from my sprayer on a Horsch CO4 until about 5 years ago (now using a Mueller / Horsch box on a Sprinter) but still use the same RDS box for VR fert connected to a Kuhn Axis control box. They're a seriously under rated bit of kit.

Still no joy I’m afraid seams im told it’s the seed drill Rds drill control which should set the out of zone seed rate. But can’t see where to set it on there . Any clues would be much appreciated

Hi @Case290, on the PSi system there isn’t a setting if you’re out of the map area. There is a base rate that can be written into the treatment file when it’s made, this is what the system will fall back to if you loose gps.

The plan itself is based on a box split into a grid, with each square having a rate. The field is inside that box, so generally has some blank areas around it in places.
If you move out of the field, but are still within the box, then it will go back to the base rate.
If you leave the box altogether though it will drop to 0 as @PSQ mentioned and this can’t be changed.

So if the dog leg corner was never mapped then it’s likely it is outside the box and will always go to zero rate, or it’s possible the base rate is 0 and it’s just going back to that.

If you send me over your plans I will load them up and see what they look like on the PC, then we can see exactly what’s going on. I’ll send you my email address in a PM.

Turn off the GPS while you’re in the mapped area and let it default to average rate for the dog leg.

Great idea but I’m not pulling the plug out and putting it back in every pass as I would go mad I’ll just drill the hole field the old way or something I can’t be the only one to have the it go to zero in stead to a pre set rate.

Nothing on the topic, just an observation that the control box makes a difference if GPS is lost inside field boundary. Consider it clever as our Amazone (not Isobus) sprayer stops spraying on automatic if GPS is lost (not sure if the operator has a field boundary selected, perhaps makes a difference).

Do as TomR says and you will be fine. You are loading a VRA map based on a very specific location. You are then complaining it’s drops to zero rate when out of that very precise map! The system is doing exactly what it’s designed to do. TomR works for topcon
