Re-clamping silage

I’m going to get our contractor to come with the big jcb shovel the use for buck raking at silo time

Bet he will be glad for out of season work

Hi. We reclamped with no bother. Clean clamp, dry clamp..ha ha... put in out mla628 then borrowed a pit compactor from a neighbour and sheeted as normal. Our only issue has come from the crud weather making clean clamping almost impossible. It's so straight forward really as long as bought in silage is dry and we'll made.

Thanks for your reply.how much did you clamp and how high did you put it?il only use 3tonne a day so was thinks of putting it about 5ft high

Oh and the hauliers need to be organised well to get loads in in short order. Haulier I used was random..and we were hauling from a long way away..

I'd just treat it as a normal silage crop if I were you. Obviously small cross section faces are a good idea especially as spring (hopefully) approaches. Just get it well rolled, 'tis all
