I agree with others, let vet be judge. We sometimes look at ours the day the vet comes out. Have had minor lumps on those areas, but never a big size and always culled those ones out. Shame though as it could be a resistance to TB they have and not TB itself, but better safe than sorry.

Sorry to hear that, a bummer, hope they do not find much more when they do herd test. But - it shows how important the pre-movement testing is! Would have been pretty horrendous for your purchaser if they had been moved with no requirement for PMT and he had a test a few months later.....

Pre movement doesn't catch them all as we found out last year, not that we shouldn't do it. Sorry to hear that you had positives, get them cleared out and go on from there.

Is it for pre movement ? Accidents do happen, legs get broken on slippery yards and stock have to be sent to the knackerman.

I've had this before and when I've spoken to the ministry they've asked me to get the farmer to hold the animal so it can be examined on day 2. It still goes on the system as tested and not there on day 2. Not allowed to move during a test, I honestly don't know if that technically applies to deadstock.

No, quite agree, just as whole herd skin test will not catch them all which is why gamma interferon blood widely used now when breakdowns confirmed
