Real name or alias?

Location

I always posted on BFF under an alias and decided to change alias when outed. But new forum, and I decided to make a fresh start under my real name. Do not know whether I can cope with being polite and watching what I say. One thing I am fully aware of is the number of lurkers and as it turns out many folks who loved BFF and couldn't join up.

I feel I may have to go back underground as I have to be too careful with what I say, and sometimes you need advice on things with legal and sensitive neighbourly issues?

Difficult question. I used to post under an alias but it wasn't long before anyone who knew me knew that it WAS me, if you get what I mean. So's there wasn't much point. Same with lots of posters, really.

But, as someone has already kindly suggested, I'd love to re-register as Walt Earp, Wyatt's troublesome younger brother...

[Walter muses to himself and mutters : "Hmmm, Worth the bother of re-registering, perhaps?"]

The trouble with a nickname is meeting another member in the real world and having to announce yourself with a comedy name !

I don't use my real name (honestly - that's not my name!), not to hide or anything, I just don't like the thought of my real name being all over the internet, coming up in any searches that happen via Google.

Any member on here that I have private contact with knows who I am - and I've no intention of hiding it from anybody.

As long as everybody sticks to the practise of only posting what you'd put your real name too, it'll all go swimmingly anyway!

Just googled my name and had to add farmer and cheshire before getting a DD forum post that related to me, nothing else. Back in the days of GM trials I used to be all over google with a similar search.

I prefer to use an alias so that no one knows my actual name when I ask a stupid question! If some of you know me in real life I might never hear the end of it!

Real name here, nothing to hide and don't plan on being rude or upsetting anyone. Plus you never know, it may be a way of making contacts and doing business...

Good to see you're still around and about Walter

Have re-named myself since BFF which wasnt my full name but could be worked out by someone who knows me.;)
The main reason is because being employed my updated contract now states no discusion on internet about workplace which could catch up and bite if things were to go pear shaped:rolleyes: .obviously I wont discuss my workplace directly now;)

Still lexion610 here as it's easier to keep a unified alias throughout the Internet.. If I wasn't already on so many other sites I would've been my real name. Got nothing to hide, if you want to find my real name it's all over twitter anyway, tied to my lexion610 handle..
