Recent Energy suppliers that have ceased trading

Hi,

Over the last couple of months the following suppliers have gone bust:

MoneyPlus Energy - New supplier is British Gas
PFP Energy - New supplier is British Gas
Hub Energy - New supplier is EON Next
Utility Point - TBC
Peoples Energy - TBC

If you are supplied by one of these suppliers either commercially or domestic, I would advise contacting the new supplier. This may mean your fixed contract is void and you are on a SVR and need to agree a new contract quickly.

If you have any questions, please message me and I will do my best to help.

Thanks

Harry.

Green Energy network was the biggest shower of shite. Could only thank god it was a 0800 number.

When dad died we tried to get a final reading through to them, failed miserably, sent letters through the post, no response from that either, and you can't sign in to an online account without speaking to someone.

The final amount never did get paid because they went out of business and no one else chased up for it.

We have been with Vegan Vince for many years. Would be interested to hear the OP's views on Ecotricity; sustainable business, financially ?

Electricity has been going through the roof, in wholesale price terms, and today one of the interconnectors to France has caught fire and will be out til March, so they've hit the stratosphere now. I see power cuts coming this winter, unless we have a windy one. And of course natural gas prices are sky rocketing too, due to Vlad's shenanigans so my guess is that anyone who sells logs will be having their phone ring off the hook as soon as the masses cotton on to what it means for their 'leccy and gas bills.

Time to buy a generator I think, or probably too late as they'll have all been snapped up. I really must get the PTO generator I have sorted out, I reckon it'll be needed soon.......

Ecotricity are good. We work with organisations on their Carbon Net Zero strategy and part of this is finding 100% Renewable Energy suppliers. With more and more organisation looking to transition onto renewable energy tariffs I think they will go from strength to strength. However the energy sector as whole is crazy right now with wholesale costs being the highest I have seen in my career.

Should you ever look for an alternative energy supplier thats 100% renewable Good Energy is another to consider.

Gonna be a squad of them failing.
My present supplier who I have been with for 4 years appears to upping rates so much that a quick check makes it look like they are pricing to get you off the books.
Expecting them to fail unfortunately.

I'm beginning to wonder if it won't be cheaper to run our generator 24/7 than rely on the mains.

Could be an interesting calculation if I knew how to do it

Are you mad?

Good Energy is owned by the wife of the guy who was trying to persuade the Senedd to invest millions in him to built the Swansea Bay barrage.
There is some excellent background stuff on the pair in Private Eye ........ the best subscription you will ever take out
