Recommend me a house insurer

Direct line refused to insure my house as "we don't insure working farms"
I have had this response from other insurers as well. More accurately they said "we don't insure houses on working farms". Does anyone know an insurer other than NFU who will?
I got almost to the point of going with Axa when they said the same, couldn't cover us as the house and farm are on the same deeds.

Admiral had no problem with that and were cheaper. Each insurer goes after a slightly different market it seems.

Used broker for nigh on 40 years, at renewal they sort it, sometimes stick with provider, every so often change.

Always same or better cover, less premium (y)

Sounds like you have a good broker there.

Sadly some take the easy option and renew each year with the same underwriter, just pocketing their 30% commission.....adds up to a fair sum, especially if they don’t challenge the premium to keep it low. Some brokers have arrangements and kickbacks from underwriters too based on the quantity of business they put their way so are reluctant to move away from their “preferred” option.

I should follow up. We reinsured vehicles through Pace Ward as brokers from their contact on here. The Saving from NFU was significant, almost half and the cover the same. We will be contacting Pace Ward for house and farm insurance when it is due.
