Recommend me a slug pelleter

Stocks are the market leader, with good reason. You won't throw good quality pellets 28m from a disc spreader, but 14m should be ok.

You will get 28 with a bullock spreader, the reason being they have a convexed disc so they throw the pellets up in the air not horizontal like a stocks. This also means mounting height is not a factor either. I dont see why stocks are so popular, they are terrible for spreading and smash the pellets also, even the stocks duo struggles to get to 24 meters in my experience

I have both stocks and bullock spreaders. The stocks are ok but the actuators can get clogged up and don’t close when using sluxxs. The bullock spreader will spread any pellet and always opens and closes which is what’s needed.

No issues here with Sluxx. I put 2-5 tonnes through mine every year. I fail to see how you'd throw a small light pellet 28m no matter how good the disc is. I'm sure you've tested the spread pattern. I agree that the disc speed on a Stocks is very fast and must cause some pellet damage. For a good enough pattern at 18m (36m tramlines) the odd broken pellet just means more bait points.

Yes agreed, but the issue with the stocks is it throws the pellets horizontally flat, so all they are doing once they leave the disc is dropping, whereas the bullock pitches them up into the air, so they are probably half the distance they need to travel before they reach horizontal and start to drop, and at this point are at greater height than when they left the dics, so carry along way horizontally before they hit the ground.

Basically they will throw alot further for a lot lower disc speed than a stocks, and i have never been able to get small pelletts to 24m reliably with a stocks, can do it with the bullock at 2/3rds speed easily.

If you wanted to throw a tennis ball maximum distance, would you thtow it straight in front horizontally or wouldyou pitch it up in the air abit and let it curl back down to the ground?

Just to hijack the thread, I've just switched to Sluxx from Ironclad half inch noodles pellets as they block my Stock Pro 65.
@Brisel or anyone else using Stocks, would you care to share your Sluxx settings please?!
TIA.

@PSQ Ive got a Fan Jet Pro Plus fancy machine with a metering wheel so calibrated like you would a drill then set disc speed according to spread width. Usually 18m unless windy. The disc is flat out at that width. It’s pretty accurate to be fair. Sluxx is a good quality pellet.
