Have quite a bit of stock fencing to do this winter.

Using creosoted posts, heavy wire and two barbs.

Looking for reccomedations for wire clamp to tension the net currently use two pieces of angle bolted together works but slow.

Have a hand ratchet very old system for the barb that we tie to the tractor loader, anything better?

Fencing plier/hand tool for removing old staples when taking fences out.

Anything quicker than sticking a bar through barb/net to roll out.

Any other suggestions of items to speed the job up? Have a post knocker already, cant justify a quickfencer.

I use the bolted angle to tension the net, but carry the impact gun on the tractor to speed the job up ….

Will be watching this thread with interest as I bet there are loads of good suggestions out there ..

Unless you get a quick fencer there won’t be anything really any quicker or better than what your doing now, no need to go spending £600 on a staple gun or fancy pliers, unless you plan on doing a lot more fencing

McVeigh Parkers own brand clamps are good value. Painted orange and go by the name "Diamond Brand", that have the knock in wedges. They will need the gloss paint roughing up with an angle grinder.
Same Diamond Brand for the long chains and hook handles for pulling the clamp up.

Strainrite 5 in 1 for pulling staples and crimping wire together.

Knipex wire cutters

Strainrite Ezepull for pulling short lengths of wire or the tail ends before terminating at a strainer.

500m rolls of 2mm High Tensile barbed wire are manageable for 2 people to unroll, and save a lot of joining.

Pencil and tape measure!

I'd have to concur the staple gun really needs to be justified, but if you can then by all means do.
The staples work out at about 7p each ok doesn't sound much buy if your putting 4 or 5 in a post every two to three metres that soon mounts up

they used to do a border clamp and strainers set of that brand which was very good value 2 wdege clamps and two long chain hook end strainers for just ove r 200 iirc may have been a few yrs ago tho:cautious: its true.. they had them.. and dont worry just let them weather and the rust will come quite easily and quickly ;)

I’d say you can justify the staple gun pretty quickly.
Not only does it save massive amounts of time, but saves all the hammering on posts which can only serve to loosen them.

see plenty like that , no excuse , just laziness in not taking the time to hang a gate correctly set a decent post, put up a stockproof fence , no excuse just lazy slack assed ness .would rather waste time chaisng stock that break out or dragging a gate around for 5 minutes complete lack of forethought and basic lack of inteligence. or maybe just lazyness.or just plain lack of a bility . did i mention lazyness.... lol

I made this to unroll wire it's saved a lot of hastle and backache. I already had the trailer from a college project standing in a corner.
It's just a square frame made of heavy channel with a hole in the middle to make a socket to take the pipe in the centre and a sheet over the top. Doesn't hinge like the bought ones was really easy to make.
