recommendations for a good pocket knife

I find I lose cheap knives far more than expensive ones i put my leatherman back in my pocket as i don’t want to lose it. Cheap ones i will lend to people and they never seam to come back.

I go to B and Q and buy pruning knives they are £4 for a small one or £8 for a large one. A very good pocket knife by another name.

my Schrade “Old Timer” has carbon steel blades.
VERY popular “farmers” knife here back in the day, with the pick & tweezers ( stored in the handle ) & 2 blade shapes.
Love this old knife ( I’ve probably had it 35 years ? ) but the extra features & versatility of the Leatherman means it is now my “everyday” knife & couldn’t live without

is this also best for me?

Presuming is not the Stanley blade recommendation?

You'll need a Gatco edge mate set of hones and blade holder now to keep the Spyderco like a scalpel

Don't use one of those little "V" draw through sharpener things..... The Spyderco blade metal is harder than most of them!!!

Congratulations on your purchase of the nicest knife to use that I've found, but don't lose it!

I've a swiss army knife but the blade gets very blunt after a few days cutting silage bales and net wrap from straw.
I've to sharpen it very often, probably doing it wrong-on a bench grinder.

For how long depends upon how careful he is with it's whereabouts, and how often it gets taken to the bench grinder
