we put vetch with h/rye, worked well
in a grazing ley, it didn't
will grow w/wold with vetch, behind wheat, this autumn, to cut, pre maize next spring.
the only downside of r/clover, is verticillium wilt, which means it needs a break.
How well does it come back after cutting , Is that winter or spring vetch , I've put a fair bit in this week with Italian Ryegrass

Fairly high in protein and more drought resistant than most plants but not a patch on Lucerne in that department. Takes longer to get going in the spring than grass but then motors. If you let it get to mature the stems can become like twigs, become unpalatable and damage wrap. I find it lasts three years then needs ripping up. Picture below is second cut last year. This mix is red clover, festulolium, fescue, cocksfoot & ryegrass.

God I hate reps and firms that state "clover mix"

So many varieties and types to choose from.

Kent wild white was it?
For your reference, I was not referring to the mix I was referring to a grass that I use in stressful situation s ,as in dry or wet , others may disagree, but that's the idea if a polite discussion on a forum , I am here to have a chat and try and be helpful, not push seed mixes ,
I am now off on my bike for a bit of peace 🙂

The issue I always find is 'reps' are told to tout all they can. @Kevtherev mentioned last night a lot of this valuable information is self taught through trial and error in an open forum where said reps can the push as their experience or 'knowledge' :ROFLMAO:

Seeing as the thread is titled "red clover" it maybe "helpful" to mention the clovers in the mix for this "wet ground "

Some would push what they have too much of left over!

we cut the rye/vetch, end may, 15ton/acre, slurried, ploughed and into maize 8 days later, so no regrowth.
in the grazing ley, it didn't come back
if sown with w/wold, l will let you know next spring ! If we can get the timing right, we will aim for 2 cuts, pre maize, whether the vetch comes back, for 2nd cut, remains to be seen.

we overseeded some pp with balsana clover, last aut, not the best of results, but what grew is OK.
This year, we will spin on a mix of white, balsana and crimson clover, on all grass ground, and await to see what happens. For what clovers can/might do for you, its a very cheap input.

A man has pleaded guilty at Newtownards Magistrates’ Court to waste offences relating to a bonfire next to the electrical sub-station on the Circular Road in Newtownards, Co. Down.

Gareth Gill (51) of Abbot’s Walk, Newtownards pleaded guilty to two charges under the Waste and Contaminated Land (Northern Ireland) Order 1997, for which he was fined £150 each and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy

On June 25, 2018, PSNI officers went to Gill’s yard, where they found a large amount of waste consisting of scrap wood, pallets, carpet and underlay.

Discussion with Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) officers confirmed the site...
