More like 1 dollar 20 cents difference in the UK per litre,5-6 dollars per gallon. We would call him an entrepreneur, I have never seen any government agency checking fuel tanks, I guess its because the price of the untaxed farm diesel is pretty close to road taxed fuel. 30-40 cents
Roger how much is a US gallon (3.785 litres) of farm diesel there? We're paying around 60p per litre here or about $3.89 per US gallon.Fuel prices have come down every day in July.
The difference in price between farm and road diesel is around 40cents per U.S. gallon which I believe is 3.78 litres. This will be made up of state and federal tax.
Took several thousand around June 20th, it was $3-19 then...........rough calc puts that at 49 pence.
Without checking I am guessing maybe 43-44p now.
Your red price is more than our road fuel..!
I think that people calling themselves farmers even when they approach a 100 is probably to do with inheritance tax.Biggest question to me is at 72years old what was he saving up for !!
Anyone other than a farmer of that age would be described by a paper as "pensioner". Or "retired"
But he stole from the government, that is a worse crime than mass murder.Glad he was caught, but seven years? He could have stuck a knife in someone or killed someone drink driving and got less.We have surely got to get crimes into perspective.Human on human crime should come in for way harsher penalties than fiddling the exchequer.

Surely it would be better to get rid of rebated fuel.
Just have a refund system where we send invoices in from registered fuel suppliers.
