Now bare with me, the farmer I help out pump isn’t pumping, been this morning and rigged a temporary pump and filled the tractors but I just wondering if anyone had any tips/ideas?
Tank is currently empty going to get 500ltrs tomorrow.
Power is getting to it and it’s humming but no diesel
I’ve got a junction box to check for loose wires, but if not that stumped.
Will it need priming now the tank it empty?
He had emptied it previously as the delivery was late, could that be an issue?
Sorry for the vague info and be gentle I’m not technically minded just practical!

thanks for reading, and any responses pee taking or helpful are appreciated

Lose a bit but put hand trigger to the ground once it's got fuel in it again and pump till it starts running again.

Works on ours anyway.

Ours has pumped over a million litres now!

When you say humming, is it normal/near-normal sound (as it's dry) or does it sound like a stalled motor? Mine broke a vane last year and wedged the rotor. Not too hard to source and fit new vanes.

On a 12v pump transfer I've had the vanes stick in the inward position due to corrosion caused by moisture, usually after the tank has been drained to empty. Face plate off, clean vanes and rotor so they slide freely, good to go.
