Is it a requirement for trailers to have sheets? Or a facility to have one?
Why? Wheat grows outside. Ships loaded outside..if it rains, don't use trailer or park under roof..

Probably depends on the load - I've always carried wheat along the road unsheeted, but if it was light hedge trimmimngs then the police could reasonably say that it should be sheeted.
As usual it's easier for the authorities to say that all loads should be sheeted then there's no ambiguity.

Rollover sheets are required only if carting/ hauling produce off farm, according to my last inspection.
Local syndicate will not accept loads without a sheet. My farm is only 1 mile away.
Went to fetch 10 t of pea gravel from local quarry the other day and they wouldn't load me unless I had a sheet. Trailer wasn't even half full. What job is the sheet supposed to be doing?

Stopping birds shitting on the grain.

Guess the quarry are worried about stone rolling off & doing damage.

FA only require sheet if you deliver grain off farm.
Mill will require sheet to be unrolled from low level, hence rollover sheets; and dust sock on outlet.
