Like the war ag where your neighbours were handed the power to put you out of business? The TFF farm standard. @Clive can’t we start our own? To keep the costs down farm inspections should be done by two of your neighbouring farmers who are also members of the scheme, let’s face it, no one is more critical of your methods of farming than them. We all know who’s doing the job properly and who isn’t. We all know the standards required as we’ve all had to comply with them up to now. Who’s in?
Yes silly me. ApologiesI think @Bald Rick has a special licence for his material .....it keeps the threads alive !
I don't much about remuneration structures for such work, but I rather suspect that after 15 years there would be some 'pension package'.Q: Did she ever leave?
Totally agree. Or go the whole way and start a new farming union as the one we have is at best useless and at worst actually working against usThe TFF farm standard. @Clive can’t we start our own? I agree with what you say, but the problem is that the supermarket can put a Union Jack on a meat pie with "British beef" written next to it, but the rest can be made from cheep substandard imported material and the consumer is hoodwinked into thinking that it is all British, or has to knowingly accept the compromise.Be careful for two reasons:
1) we rely on imported GM soya
2) make imports compliant with RT and we have no advantage over them quality wise.
Importsthat are cheap and meet RT would be our worst nightmare.
Imports that are cheap but don’t meet RT are “inferior”.
Considering how utterly worthless the RT brand is in terms of consumer recognition, what therefore is the point of it when we start to let any old crap in? And don't tell me it's a point of difference when it doesn't mean anything now.But then with cheap substandard imports about to arrive RT day's are over??
if they are that could be few hundred quid saved to offset any reduction against non assured grain!!I'm told this morning the NFU are backing her .....
Just what I was thinking, have stuck with NFU as although deeply flawed it is the best voice we have. If they are really backing her we have to ask whose voice they are talking with.if they are that could be few hundred quid saved to offset any reduction against non assured grain!!
The lords is nothing but vested interestSurely the RT Chair should not have voted in the House of Lords ......isn't a conflict of interest ?

Funny our WhatsApp group is saying the same as yoursBe REALLY interested to hear who is saying that our local County Whats App group already calling for her head. But we are just part of the awkward South West
dont expect the nfu to have much to say about thisMinette Batters needs to be getting some air time on this.
Good luck getting a decent answer from Guy about this on here, I like the chap but as far as I can see on the last few threads he has been on all he does is seek to cause an argument and not answer anything properlyGoing to be an interesting first RT AFS Board meeting for @Guy Smith I wonder if the Board will call for a vote of no confidence in the Chair.
