I don't disagree with what they are asking us to do, they all seem reasonable sensible things for the 21st century, but what I resent is having to do them but not receiving a higher price and that these are import requirements for food stuffs

The whole thing has turned into a complete farce.

Any purchaser buying produce who has worries about food safety needs to do their own digging. Having faith in these muppets is pointless.

I am bemused why RT are seeking to add an already legal requirement into their scheme.

Just wondering - "tethering as a management practice would no longer be permitted "

What is meant by tethering? Would adopters no longer be acceptable for ewes and lambs?

Consultation just completed. Blood pressure now much higher than an hour ago. No mention in the survey of assessment of farmers health due to unnecessary form filling. (Maybe they’ll add that next year)

This is a legitimate concern. RT means nothing, delivers nothing to the industry nor the consumer and is a clear cause of mental anguish for many people trying to participate in the scheme. Any comparable union of workers would be kicking it in the teeth.

It's funny this year onwards our lamb is now going to a firm doing large scale organic meat boxes and our beef is going to a butcher locally who clears 5/6 carcases a week. Both say red tractor load off rubbish, and dear direct with the consumer with businesses both growing rapidly. If they top end of the market doesn't give a monkeyl's about I really can't imagine the cheep supermarket consumer care either. I just need a milk buyer who does not require it!

WTF does Mr Moseley think we do all day?

he thinks we are incapable of organising ourselves to stop them and unless we really do unite and work together on this he maybe right ........

as in the other thread running EVERYONE needs to tell every farmer they know to come and read these recent threads.

Next week I will start a referendum on Red Tractor ACCS and formally invite Jim
Mosley, Guy Smith, NFU, BRC, AHDB and as many crops board members, grain merchants, millers, bakers , processors and retailers to respond

i could do with some help on the logistics of this if anyone is willing, home schooling, starting 2 new business and a few speaking commitments is getting in my way a bit

What help would you need? Where there's a will there's a way. We've had brexit lets keep the revolution going!

Because RT see Governemnt and Defra as one of their “stakeholders” 😡 That means that they will help to facilitate their needs in the scheme. That is why they are becoming the Policeman for governemnt regulation. Conveniently for the Government a Policeman we pay for. At a meeting i attended that Mosley spoke at the reason for increased measures on fertiliser storage was included SPECIFICALLY at the request of the anti terrorist squad.
That clearly demonstrates that RT is the method to control us, has become a licence to farm and most conveniently is enforcement that we have to pick up the total cost for.
These proposals must be robustly rejected. Our representatives organisations will not back us as they are part of RT.
I sat in a Regional NFU Crops meeting where the feeling against these changes was VERY strong, it really concerns me that the response that the NFU make as a whole to this consultation will not truly reflect the views of those members. The RT representatives present alluded to the fact that they will take more note of the consultation submissions from representative bodies than from individuals. That means that a huge number of NFU members who have strong views on this will potentially be disaffected by the NFU response.

Isn't there rumblings that ELMs could "reward" you for being part of an assurance scheme?
