@homefarm @Humble Village Farmer @Worsall @warksfarmer @B'o'B and everyone else.

Apologies for another RT thread :(. I'm about sick of it all !!! Will try not to post many more unecessary threads.

Here it is, didn't know it existed....

Feed/grain warranty declaration to say it's OK to trade farm to farm feed/grain if it's non-assured. I asked RT about it, and they told me about it.

So therefore now RT say they're going to accept feed from a feed mill (supplied to the feed mill as non-assured), then the below declaration should be quite sufficient to also supply to the feed mill, as RT already accept it (in fact, their own declaration form) :)(y):)(y). Just got to get it past AIC, but difficult to argue against it.

Why is beef/lamb different to pork/chicken. No idea why the daft RT rules should be different for different species :scratchhead: :scratchhead: :scratchhead:

See screenshots below.
It's available from the RT website under the livestock scheme drop down menus (e.g. beef, chicken), Feed Warranty Declaration.

No pesticide declaration needed for this that I can see, so why are they banging on about testing.

Has anyone ever used this for farmer to farmer trades, first I have heard of it too.

They finally are getting the message............ change or lose their jobs !!

Keep pulling at that pack of cards............it's beginning to topple.

It won't be long before we can put non RT grain in with RT grain and livestock buyers will put non RT livestock in the same lorry as RT livestock !!!
I'd never heard of it either. I could be wrong, but seem to think in the actual standards it says you can only purchase RT grain.

I asked RT, and they told me about this little nugget. A bit hidden in the templates section (OK, so maybe not hidden, but I didn't know about it).

Anyway, it's there, and it's dynamite for us.

Bizarre differentiation between beef/sheep and pork or chicken.

Still, if RT accept this declaration for non-assured farm to farm, and now RT say we can use non-RT grain to supply feed mills, then that suggests this declaration will be all that's needed.

Indeed, the inconsistencies are staggering. I would be very interested to know exactly when that document went "live".

Perhaps they took legal advise after someone threatened to take them to court for illegal trading practices and tried to cover their backs. Timing seems about right.

Similar to the removal of the pesticide declaration by AIC.

Keep up the good work Grass and Grain. The legal action could still be used as a last resort if the negotiations stall.

👆this a 100times over.

What other pearls are going to come to light? What other little inconsistent "standards" will have subtle differences?

Do they really think we are that stupid? The timing? The changes?

The civil service like ability, to change things at will, to suit their agenda regardless of the fact THEY (should) serve US.

@Grass And Grain , don't stop. I'm fully behind you in your quest.

I saw that, or something very similar, several years ago. Nobody has ever asked for it when selling non-FA cereals so I’ve never bothered with it.

It only takes a small change to ‘modify’ it on a time stamp, or even opening and re-saving it (iirc).

yes it's been around for years, but the older version was only a single page. I might have some old filled in ones in the office filing system...

Opening it modifies it, which is why the Modified date is tonight when I down loaded it. The created date is more permanent, (although not definitive). I don't know which is worse for RT & NFU. This document being new in 03/21 or it being a longstanding declaration? Did it just apply to veg rejects used for animal feed before awkward questions were being asked? When were cereals added? If it has been long standing for cereals then what the heck have the AIC NFU and RT been on about all these years?

I think I need to go back to my mantra:-

don't turn into a cynical, paranoid old git,

don't turn into a cynical, paranoid old git!

I would only have had any interest in it as it referred to non-FA cereals. I doubt I bothered downloading it at the time as I’ve never needed it, but I’ll have a look.

No idea why pigs and poultry are different to cattle and sheep :scratchhead:

No idea when the document became available. A few years ago by the sounds of things.

Point is, RT allow it for the supply of non-assured cereals for farm to farm supplies. Can't see how farm to mill to farm is any different - exact same grain gets consumed by exact same animals.

So this annual declaratin should satisfy RT, and RT have said mills should accept non-assured grain, so this declaration should be all that's needed shouldn't it?

Anyone disagree?
