Just loading wheat for Ensus this morning
Two load away lovely... used up the last two stickers on the sheet.... where’s the envelope with the other new sticker sheets....( I know we have some). can’t find them
Lorry is loaded on the dock waiting to leave..... no stickers

frantic search of office, of my house office, of the farm foreman's office etc etc. Lots of swearing and gesticulating

the grain buyer trying to sort somat out.....
NSF answered the phone but no one is in the office, no stickers can be printed.... they sent me an email saying we are Assured and to write my number in the box on the passport as a stop gap. But Ensus won’t accept this

so..... at this point we can’t send corn off the farm, there’s a lorry loaded on the dock and another one on the way.... I’m panicing.... and there’s 400 ton to go this next two weeks which will give me the cash flow to pay the bills for the next 4 months

suddenly son and heir sees the corner of an envelope poking out from behind the desk.... the envelope slipped out of the back of the drawer and down the back. Phew crisis averted

except

how is the whole grain market reliant on a little 1” square sticker
When it’s online that we are assured

surely in this day and age we can print somat off at home, have a stamp or just digital.

Im fuming right now at the potential to ruin a business for the want of a sticker

Never has that line applied more to this country. Not just your sticker but to the entire workforce (what’s left of them)
With the supply chain broken at the first link the whole thing fails whether that is agriculture or any other industry.
It’s well known that everything can be fixed with duck tape or WD40, nowhere is selling either right now

Ignorant twits.

Dont let them get to you, too much stress is not good.

If they have go to have the silly sticker thing , why dont they just issue the client with the new upto date 'sheet ' of them online which you can then print yourself and apply glue or staple to passport.??

Ignorant goons .

Sticker not needed. As long as assurance number on passport, and computer says yes, all will be fine.

But that assumes a particular weighbridge intake and staff who know - which can never be guaranteed, after all I assumed it needed sticker. In same vein I await my first discussion with Lincolnshire Constabulary i my purpose is essential or not - possibly open to some subjective debate at the roadside in next few days. Hey ho.

My asssurance inspector told me a couple of weeks back when doing the inspection that they are planning to do away with the stickers for next year.

In this new age of "no contact" I'm surprised they haven't moved to contactless grain collections.

I bet you can get both on Amazon?

I was told that if you’re suspended (for some petty “non conformance”) it was with immediate effect and your stickers would no longer be valid.
So it therefore follows that an up to date sticker is no guarantee of anything!

I think the grain trade want to go electronic but only on their own terms. Someone more in the know than me might be able to help but as I understand the nfu is trying to get them to return some info to farmers at tipping rather than informing us of claims when the stament comes

Ensus fed you bullsh1t. They have to enter your number to search the system to ensure you are currently assured. No sticker required, just a number, and as long as the address match you’re good to go.

I would have gone absolute booloo on them.

It’s not subjective. It will be essential

Photocopy your FA membership certificate and staple it to the passport.

If you have problems with the FA stickers, you'd enjoy the fiddly things that we have on cattle passports.
