mostly an Australian / North American focus here, but you may find things of interest

one thing all farmers across the world have in common is soil & the need to look after it first

as a kiwi you need to leave us out , from what i have seen from modern farming

I am looking to create a website 'Regenerative food and farming' with a regionalised forum where local farmers can talk to each other and share experience. I'm not sure how best to create and manage it though and would love any advice you can kindly give me / us. I'm one of four volunteers sitting as directors on a community interest company to promote regenerative farming practices, lobbying for gen good, improving knowledge by the public on all things healthy food, reducing waste...we will link to your site too. I'm at [email protected] in case you want me to call you. ping me an email and I'll call back asap. Cheers. :)

Hi Folks, I would like to invite you to two upcoming webinars. These are going to be good!

WEBINAR Shifting Perspectives: Long-Term Holistic Thinking

WHEN: Thursday, 16th of January 2020, 19:30 -- 20:30 UK/Ireland time
Imagine having 117 acres over 5 different sites. How would you knit together a viable business model? How do you keep it all going?

Join us for an informative and lively session with John Duffy, of An Caora Dubh [Pron: “An-Keera-Duv”, The Black Sheep], a sheep farm in the mountains of Donegal, Ireland. The enterprise aims to build upon traditional farming practices and create a bio-diverse and productive system by working with nature rather than against it.

Hear his journey with holistic management, and ask your questions. He has a great big vision for what's possible, including a nine-mile wildlife corridor from his farm to the coast.

An engineer by profession, he spent 10 years in oil & gas exploration before turning his attention toward regenerative agriculture practices & woodland management.

WEBINAR Q&A with Walter Jehne

WHEN: 23rd of January

We can safely and quickly cool our climate by working with the natural cooling process provided by Earth's Water Cycle. Yes, we can!

How? These processes need living landscapes with abundant plant life and a functional soil sponge to soak up the rain. Many people are already successfully restoring these processes. The co-benefits are enormous, providing resilience to extreme weather events, as well as improvements in clean water supplies, resilience in flood or drought, and food security.

To tell us how to do this is WALTER JEHNE, an internationally known Australian soil microbiologist, climate scientist and founder of Healthy Soils Australia, and Global Cooling Earth. His work shows how we can safely cool the climate by repairing our disrupted hydrological cycles. As a research scientist at CSIRO (Australia’s scientific research organization), Jehne investigated the potential of mycorrhizal fungi to recolonize toxic, degraded soils and to rebuild productive biosystems.
