Registering Sheep

Good morning all,

I recently purchased 14 sheep from a farm in Sussex. They gave me a "Movement Document" when they were delivered and I sent this off to Capita Animal Reporting & Movement Service.

This is all that I was given and I have yet to receive anything back from Capita (sent 4 weeks ago).

The document (which I took a copy of) contains all the sheeps ID numbers etc... do I need to do anything further? Does this mean that I already have a flock number?

It seems odd that all I have to prove ownership is a photo copy of the movement document.

Appreciate everyone's help as always.

Many thanks
Chris

You won't get anything back. Just record them in your movement book.
I assume you have a holding (CPH) number?
IIRC, to get your own flock number you have to register with your local Animal Health Authority quoting your CPH.
Proof of ownership will be your invoice you got when you bought them.

As @yellowbelly says, as long as you have your CPH number then you're legal and registered. You should have been given a couple of copies of the movement document, one to send off and one to keep rather than taking a photocopy. Make sure you've recorded all the animal tag numbers in your flock book (can be worth double checking the actual tags!).
