I think looks decent machine, and a couple of cats (know nothing about them) but look good value?

It's a steal. All profits go to their missile programme. One on Facebook at the moment 540 https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/560482834987005/

Buy 2 , see which breaks down first , use it for sparesPossibly not cheap junk just built for a different market, back up will be next to zero in the UK with no common branded parts used on any of these and some probably dont even meet UK emission regs i bet. They are also ugly.
Its tempting but i don't know anyone that has actually bought one despite over the last few years many saying things like "Still cant go too badly wrong at that money" and "Id chance 1"
Would i chance one? NO

As I said I know nothing about them would this be better? Less risk? Parts prices vhigh?couple bolts missing there on the thermostat housing Also the trouble with them old dash board hour clocks is they lack digits!
Seen a few of these clocks get to 9999hrs then magically go back to zero and start again Not saying this is one of them but its always a possibly with these old dashes, sadly the next hour clock they use was a VDO same as older manitou and they just pack up randomly ever few thousand hrs

We have a 2001 version like that (though tidier!) with 11700hrs under its belt. Simple reliable loader. We rebuilt the engine three years ago, and it only does about 300hrs a year now, but it's invaluable for what it does. JCB pre 2004 was very good. Avoid 2005-2016!A good 530-70 is a very reliable loader even at 20 years old, I bought mine two years ago with 4500 hrs for €21 k pictured below
Same 4 speed gearbox for the last 24 years, they haven’t changed much from day one.As said I would go for a industrial spec JCB. Ours is bombproof, hardly any electronics.
As I said I know nothing about them would this be better? Less risk? Parts prices vhigh?

I noticed the paint job, in general are the cat machines as good as the jcb? Better? There are a few merlos around the same priceWell that's not remotely in the same category of machine IMO, its a 13ish metre lift big heavy and clumsy farm work. its a had a rough paint job (not even the correct colour and genuine cat paint is actually cheap in 5litre cans) and the boom has had some serious bodgery plates welded on it.
Edit oh and there is no AUX pipes on it so its had problems inside the boom and they have removed them and not refitted cause it would have had them from factory.
Agree about the parts - have been running Sanderson telehandlers for some years - most things are still available, as they were largely built from the parts bins of other manufacturers. I believe Matbro were similar.Sub-£20k (or even £15k) the name on the bonnet starts to be somewhat immaterial. Condition is king.
Go and try them. If the feel ‘right’, they generally are.
Ignore the ‘you can’t get bits for these’ brigade, too. There are very few proprietary serviceable parts on any machine like a Matbro, Sanderson etc so pretty much everything is available somewhere. You just need to go off-piste in your search.

And this is why the JCB wins, axles and brakes shared with 3cx diggers etcThe first part I agree with but your wrong on the second part, there are more and more of 90's telehandler parts of all brands fast becoming no longer available as the manufacturer of the part has stopped making them.
Earlier this month I wanted to buy the steel brake plates either side of the friction on the carraro axles of matbro/sanderson and old manitous.
There now obsolete carraro stopped making them, only stock I could find was manitou and they only had 1 of each. Fortunately only needed one of each to do job.
There are many more examples like this, it's no longer viable for manufacturers to make some of these parts. There will be breakers about but even matbro and Sanderson in breakers yards are dwindling as they're simply not so viable to break for parts as people moved on and got newer stuff.
