Removing stuck bolt

Got a 200mm long m16 bolt which goes through plough beam. Now stuck solid. Moved about 25mm one way to start then bound up- tried to knock it back in with no success.

Tried heat which made ends brittle and never helped.

Used a hammer which was too big which has not helped.

Been trying to drill from both sides but centre section of bolt seems very hard. I guess from me battering it with the big sledge.

Obviously can't get the bugger in a press.

Anyone got any gpod tips.

My plan is to try and get it drilled through from both ends with an 8mm bit. Then i will be able to heat right through and hopefully quench to un stick.

Any tips on how to approach the other two that i haven't tried yet so i dont get the same problems.

Possibly of no help but I’ll throw it out there, in that situation I’ve normally sheared the nut head off by now because of the bars etc I’ve put on a socket bar to try and move, I’ve had a lot of luck after that by welding a bigger nut on and while it’s still red hot from welding putting the socket bar back on.

More heat, get it glowing red, then big hammer

Obviously methodd above depends on what the bolt runs through, and whether or not this will take the heat.

Bolt runs through a collar in plough beam. Struggling to get heat to penetrate to centre just now i think.

If you have used a big hammer with some clout, i dont think pressing it out with a jack will work, unless you have a high capacity jack, and something really heavy to place above it.

You can get some serious shock loads through a bolt or pin with a big hammer

Might be a possibility. If i can get forklift close enough to push jack against.
Never move it , with a jack , best thing is a solid hit with a big hammer , Wd 40 overnight then smack it hard in morning , try a hammer drill vibrating on head to slacken it

Can you put a picture up, then we may be able to help you better,
Get a mag drill low gear slow speed, plenty of cutting fluid and a good quality drill, bore it from one side only right through, then a bigger drill through again till most of the meat of it has gone, then it should knok out,

A Pitney hand held drill going to fast will just eat drill bits,

Edit, you can not have a big enough hammer, the bigger the better, with a good drift, and don't tap it, hit it hard and good square on,
