Removing turf from hardcore and concrete

Over the years our steep drive and turning area have been getting overgrown with grass. Looks pretty in the summer, but in wet weather turns into a slippery mess. Spent a couple of hours digging up a square metre by hand, with another 40 or so to go and thought there must be a quicker way, perhaps Roundup first ?
Thought there has been a similar thread on here but can't find it.

In my experience with gravel paths ...... If it's got grass .crap on top . I shouldn't have let it get that bad ..... If I roundup. When it dies it makes a soggy mess
I'd dig it off first
Poss spray after uve redressed ??
