Ouch indeed. Just trying to work out if this is right or if they think I've got 30MW behind the yard. Can't find any decent info yet.Ouch!!
Is this just on wind farms or solar / biomass too
The non domestic rhi is only payable to rates paying businesses anyhow ???
That's a bit different from mine - it says that it can be challenged after 1/4/17. Have no option otherwise as it's not currently listed. I take it that you can find yours after entering your postcode? I wonder how they are doing their sums if 80kW has a rateable value of nearly £10k and 500kW is £33k?Got a letter from the Valuations Office notifying me that the new 2017 valuations are available to view www.gov.uk/voa/revaluation, my 500kw wind turbine has increased from £10,500 Rateable Value to £33,000!!!! You have until 30th November to appeal. I would advise everyone to check theirs
Are you saying that all farms pay business rates then
I just entered my postcode and they appear. That's a bit different from mine - it says that it can be challenged after 1/4/17. Have no option otherwise as it's not currently listed. They contacted me and billed from date of commissioning. I think the local councillor may have tipped them off!!Our turbine's been working for a couple of years now but we've never had any communication from the local council about rates. Does everyone have to pay these and if so why have we not been contacted? Bit of a worry now seeing the figures in this thread.
