Most mainstream car radio makers, sony, jvc, kenwood etc have simple “deckless” units. some are only 100mm deep. They have Bluetooth for streaming from a phone, and/or USB port to connect a usb stick with tunes on.
The USB port can also be used to charge a phone, but probably only around 500mA output so will be slow.
I have never found the tuners in the cheap no brand units to be any good.

the last one I bought was a Sony @ £40 from Halfords on a bank holiday weekend deal.

I managed to post this in the wrong place so let me try again. Here is an old Sony radio, removed because the CD player had a fault.
It is the pull out version so it can be removed at night.
Reasonably priced to a good home.View attachment 998869View attachment 998868

While were on the subject of stereos, has anyone ever replaced an old push button type with something more modern, I've a couple of tractors that need new juke boxes but theres no room behind the unit to fit a standard tape deck or CD type.
You can get a modern dab radio which has very little depth to it so was to fit.
It's only the cd player that needed much space.
I put one in a tractor for around £30.
