I’ve had ago with fibreglass in a tin but only on the outside, worked until I moved the tank with liquid in, which I want to do, any better ideas than fibreglass ?? It’s an 8 inch crack that needs repairing. I think I’m too fat to get inside to repair from there
Just to clarify, it’s one of the green plastic ones

I'm pretty certain that plastic tanks, like 205 litre barrels are polypropylene. I have done bodge repairs with a soldering iron only, on things made from bits of barrels. I believe that you can buy sticks of different types of plastic to use with the iron. Other members will know more. I wonder if a hot glue gun would work?

That sounds like a plan to try, just hope I’ve not made to much of a gap with the grinder, I “V’ed” it out so the fibre class could get into it.

Plastic welding will do it, you do need the appropriate rod to do it and a hot air plastic welder, soldering iron is not really the way to do it.

I have successfully welded fuel tanks on vehicles in the past and have an old single skin Balmoral tank that is still ok after over 20 years with a plastic weld repair, but that was because of a saw cut rather than a split. Titan tanks do tend to split in my experience and there not much hope for them tbh. As it’s only for water then definitely worth a try though, make sure you clean off all the fibreglass you’ve stuck in the crack.
