Repairing electrical wires outer sheath after small fire

Had an incident on the combine this evening . A small oak branch had landed on top of engine and set fire which in turn set fire to the wiring harness by engine. Luckily we put it out but kept about 12 wires fused together. We pulled them all apart and now need to recover them . Most about 5 inches long where copper only showing . Wires not broken so can’t slip over shrinking tube. Electrical tape just tends to go brittle when hot . What’s best option.? Thanks

Cut them out one at a time and solder new lengths in adding shrink wrap, cut at different lengths so joins are in different places, then wrap the whole lot with tape.

We had a fire incident last night. Removed the loom this morning and took to dealer. Half hour and they had it repaired.
Would a stick alone cause a fire??

What I was going to suggest has already been mentioned... however you need to check wiring right through for burning also fuses should have blown so could be other problems

The copper wires themselves are totally intact hence not wanting to cut them. Looks like I best cut them add new wire and heat shrink the connectors . Got a mechanic coming up this morning to solder and shrink wrap.

Taped them up and did a test run last night and all worked ok. Think we were bloody lucky
