Anyone have an success mending holes in creep feeders with fibreglass sheets , like the car repair stuff, the riveted steel sheet only seems to last a few years before rust starts again, its always the awkward corners that get it and steel is a pain to shape

Father used to mend the wheelbarrows that builders threw out.
I grew up making sledges out of 5 gallon drums, graduated to repairing ring feeders with diesel tank steel and now make gates with scrap box section and dairy vacuum pipe.

Nothing is thrown away.
Bought 2 new galv water troughs a few years ago and son said they were the shiniest thing he'd ever seen on the farm. :D

Have you not already repaired that a time or two?
No first time, came in with wheel falling off ,did red oxide the tin a few years back half wondering about a pile of wet mortar in the corner , bloody akward place to repair properly without cutting the side out , THe ladder ones are easy , just cut a slot one end and feed a new sheet of galv in and rivet in place

Well hunting around found a galvanised sheet that came with the flat-packed 3 in 1 feeder((you know in the pile that everyone tells you to get rid off but will come in useful one day lol) now for another length of steel to weld in between wheels some paint and good for a few more years
