Have group of 50 shearling. 40 haven’t lambed before. Started 3rd cycle yesterday and so far have 4 repeated. 3 were with 1 ram and 1 from another ram. 3 other ones haven’t been served at all as yet. Am I worrying over nothing ?
You will get those who just won’t breed unfortunately. If they are fit, got plenty of minerals and in good health they ought too be in lamb by the end of the 2nd. We get them every year, 2 or 3 shearlings that ran dry as ewe lambs then again as shearlings. Except barren shearlings here go on a 1 way trip.
In past any that doesn’t get Inlamb as ewe lambs gets sold. But last year had so many empty I kept them as wanted to increase numbers and bought 30 dry shearlings to on top of that. Anything that’s empty will be sold for sure. Between them not tupping and repeats and dodgy rams it’s shaping up to be a fun tupping time
