our hardi sprayer , age around 1998, is looking a bit tired . we need a decent replacement even though buying a little sprayer looks very old fashioned reading the farming press. spraying barley. fodder beet and grass on a mainly dairy farm. it lives on a 85 hp 2wd tractor all summer.
needs
12m boom , some rough ground to spray
hyd up/ down boom
electric on / off and would like to adjust pressure in cab
1000 l tank
poss. hyd folding booms
induction tank

hardi seems to have disappeared as a brand, and you don't see many sprayer in dealers yards in our area
any suggestions for a new one

Speak to Simon Dodds at A.M. Philip near Forfar. They're not really that far from you given they're one of the best sprayer specialists in the country.

We were in a similar situation a few years ago, and ended up with a used Berthoud Mach 15 (1500l) from them. It's a basic 18m, but with electric controls, induction hopper, hydraulic folding and up/down etc. Does everything we need it to, and does it well. It's not a huge workload but it's done all the spraying on our 120-200ac cropping per year without fault. So much so we've just added 1000 litres to the front of the tractor courtesy of a little eBay shopping!

Is the only reason for replacement because it looks old? If it still passes it's test without too much spending on it then i'd keep it
yes I can see your point, a 3 way valve needs replacing, a couple of little leaks here and there, might look ok to fix especially when I get to the next stage, pricing up a new one. a 15 m Kuhn with some heavy looking galv. booms was just under 10000 3 years ago in dealers yard.
the team sprayer looks ok
