The fibre one on the rear roller for the bed chain? If it not badly worn, then knock it out and turn it 180°. Slacken bed chains right off. Undo the ring of bolts that hold the bearing and shaft in place and slide off. If you turn it or put a new one on make sure there's a hole for the grease to get through.

If one has gone the odds are that the other 3 are to.
We replaced ours with bronze,
First thing is to establish wether you have an early or late shaft, Early shafts are a tight fit into gearbox, later ones are a loose fit. the top bearings in the box could be bad and need to be checked

I was chatting with the guy that does alot of my spanner work and he says it is 99% impossible to get the gearbox off the shaft in one piece. Goodluck you will need alot of it

Gearbox has to come off in bits using the hot spanner or 9inch grinder unfortunately. For what you need to do I think you could cut the gypsy wheels off in situ and withdraw the shaft with the gearbox, assemble then in reverse with new gypsies and bushes.

Yes, you can withdraw complete shaft with box but scrap the gypsies. Remember that I put a new box and gypsies on one last year that someone else had removed by splitting the gypsie wheels off.

The box was scrap so we cut the bearings out and left the hub on shaft, press was not high enough so needed a lift!!! Took the press and a bit of heat to remove the hub.

How old is the spreader? If you use the four threaded holes in the gearbox and a piece of plate you can pull it off. We make sure ours get pulled off at least once a year and the shaft greased so we never have this issue. I don't know what the Burma boxes cost but I'm not cutting one off just because we didn't do the servicing well enough.

It's a 2011 gearbox never been off yet, I wasn't planning on cutting gear box up shaft will get cut off 1st if I can get the gypsie wheels off should be able to get it in a press! [emoji106]

2011 should have the slack fit shaft/gearbox.. old ones are almost impossible, good bit is all bearings in box can be done with shaft still in boss
