REPLACING TM155

Looking to replace/upgrade a 2003 TM155 with similar, but less hours and 50k. Would a T6.175 compare, though only 140hp, (boosts to 175 on PTO/transport.)? Other NH models? Budget £20,000 to change.

I’ve got a TM155 that has not had the pump touched and my brother has a 6.175 and it pulls better than the 155 on the road with the boost. Main difference is with the extra weight of the 155 for draft and stability. If you don’t need the weight then a 6.175 will be fine. If your pump has been played with then you might find it disappointing.

I know....looking at used tractor prices recently does make that seem a sensible option. 7,700 hours now. New clutch packs 3 years ago. New transmission output speed sensor a month ago to sort a gear change problem. But wondering what the next big repair bill might be. And 50k would be nice!

Can a T6.175 be "played with" to improve on 140hp for draft work?
You would have to remap it, but I wouldn’t. It’s not a huge back end on that tractor.

interestingly I have heard even short wheel base T7s won’t lift as much as a TM and will struggle to lift a folding 4m power Harrow drill. Not sure if anyone has actual experience of that.

The experts tell me that I need a T7.210 to replace my "remapped" TM 140.
Then the other expert says it still won't pull like a TM even though the 210 has more Gee gees! :banghead::banghead: no low down torque like the powerstar, have to say that mine does pull very well.
Then the guy selling them says buy an Autocommand, got to get a vario, once you have a vario you will never go back, every body loves a vario, best thing since sliced bread, but oh you need to buy one with about 40-50hp more to hide the power sucking gearbox. WTF??:banghead::banghead:
Depends the work your TM is doing, if it was just power a big T6 would do, but I think you have to go to T7 for the weight to lift and hold stuff.
I have a heavy 5 furrow and I don't think a T6 would look at it, and a big trailer full of muck on a greasy midden in the winter the bigger tractor is more boss of it.

I'd keep it, unless you're swapping for a new one you're potentially just buying someone else's problems. 20 K will sort quite a few problems should you need it. Assuming you've looked after it of course.
50k over 40k won't make much difference to your day.

A T6080 then T7.200 is the replacement for TM155

we replaced our 155 with a factory spec T7.210 vario. It knocks the Tweaked TM into next week in every single area.

A standard Puma155 or T6080 would match the TM on the road and we’re far better in PTO work as the newer version have the boost feature which does give a useful gain once something is hooked to PTO shaft.

Suspension might make a difference?

Why not a t6180 as it has the 6 pot engine so will have more torque
It still won't have the weight of the TM, depending on what it's doing that may or may not be important to the OP
The t4a T6.175 are 6cylinder, so are the T6.155 and T6.165. Then when the T4b models came out the 180 became the only 6cyl until they brought out the 160 a couple years later
I'm a blue man but their numbering of models, especially the T6 range over the years is unbelievably poor.
The 6.175 was a 6 but now a 4 pot, the 6.160 was a 4 now its a 6!! And this boosted power numbering too, bring back the days of a 7840 being 100hp and that was that.

I went to a T6090 from a TM150 which is a very nice tractor (if you can find one, not many sold) eventually had it remapped to 190 and 234 on boost and now have gone to a T7.245 which is a gorgeous tractor
