Replacing tractor bonnet Rams/struts

Hey all , the rams that lift up the bonnet on my john Deere 6430premium are getting a bit weak and are struggling to hold the bonnet up so I am going to replace them.

I assume if i buy direct from JD Garage they will cost an arm and a leg for what they are (I haven't priced them yet) .

Is there anywhere you lads would recommend buying from instead that offer better value but not rubbish stuff?

Just trying to save a penny where I can , thanks folks.

Any vapormatic or sparex suppliers will have what you need. Who actually makes the struts?

I priced both Vapormatic and JD last month, and the John Deere ones were cheaper, around £22.00 each as I recall..

It must put alot of strain on them repeatedly opening and shutting the bonnet replaceing turbos and head gaskets

Had an order off Vapormatic last year and this thread reminded me I ordered bonnet struts which I've just pulled out. Can anyone tell me where is the pressure adjuster for these so as to fit them??

look on the sgs link above , and look for help and they show how its done .

Not sure there are available with pressure adjustment ..............
Fit one end and lever the other end on, they are not user friendly when off.
