Surely the best way to stop the coursing would be to hide and shoot the dogs with a silenced rifle.
Unless the dog is worrying livestock I think that would be a fairly foolish course of action.

As said on paper and tv like countryfile etc. The police, unions etc.etc. have wildlife officers- action groups-leaflets-and information-but you phone up in the middle of the night about lampers or un-known car in gateways or persons walking with lurchers or carrying unknown items in a gun shape or gun bag in village /street -you really see what happens= Nothing - and you are the one who is made to feel like your wasting everyone's time of day.
Anyhow if they did turn up - nothing is rarely done .
All looks good for their "image", but farmers and landowners know in reality its a joke .
Its Brigg horse fair this weekend so expect a few more ,every caravan dweller for miles away will be in the county
If it's anything like the ones we get round here, the number plate won't officially refer to that vehicle!@llamedos are we allowed to post number plates?
Countywatch does that ,I used to be with it but by the time the txts got sent ,the crims had buggered of .I'm more shocked that there isnt some kind of local farmer network for this kind of thing - some way one person could send a text to all the local farmers with details so we can all go to the ends of our drives for a little look-out.
We had something very unofficial set up here a few years ago when things were really getting out of hand. It included a handful of people that you wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of. After one particularly good turnout, and a few cracked head, the police were a bit prompter to turnout for a while!I'm more shocked that there isnt some kind of local farmer network for this kind of thing - some way one person could send a text to all the local farmers with details so we can all go to the ends of our drives for a little look-out.

I've been reliably informed that the best course of action is to crawl underneath said vehicle and stick a screwdriver through the oil filter. That way the vehicle dies after several miles.
As they will of doubtless been to several farms that evening, they won't know who is too blame.
