Resistant ryegrass

So I've got one field that is getting terrible for ryegrass. Planted maize this time thinking we could easily control it, wrong!
Admittedly timing of Samson at full rate may have been a little late but I can't believe how it has come back in the last week. The maize itself seems OK at the moment but god knows what will happen now. This field was ryegrass over 20 years ago along with a few neighbouring fields but they are not nearly as bad.
Half the field was ploughed this spring, other half done with Sumo Trio and to be fair it's hard to tell the difference.
Agronomist says pre-ems in following wheat crop will sort it but I'm not convinced.
Is the only option to grass it down?

What was with the Callisto ?

what is it resistant too ?
Relying on pre em in wheat is wish ful thinking imo

I've got a field with suspect resistant rye, well at least anything for cereals won't touch it.
Was quite aggressive with the spot spraying with Glyphosate this year, but I really should had followed my gut and mow and clamped the headland with the 1st cut grass.
Plan was for maize next time round. I just assumed they'd be something there to control it......

I have a couple of fields here with resistant ryegrass in. The bane of my life. Have it down to a rotational legume fallow (SFI23) here, which will go down to permanent grass afterwards to sort it out.
Let me know what pre ems your agronomist has access to that will properly control it, or alternatively I’ll have whatever he’s smoking! Every herbicide I have tried so far hasn’t touched it, other than round up

problem is the bloody stuff germinates when the pre em's run out of steam. we are holding it on the fields in the beet rotation but struuggling on the rest!

Controlling ryegrass in wheat is difficult at best, impossible at worst if it's resistant as it grows all year round, not just in the autumn flush.
