About 400 I would have thought ?

And on the right boots!

I am sure mine had a rubber wheel type packer on it, stones used to get jammed between it and the frame and near catch fire, only a hammer and (builders) chisel would get them out, which led to curious questions about why I had one in my tool kit all the time.
Used to ask for an old Challenger 55 to pull mine, would have worked a treat I reckon; never did get a go in one though.

It'll do a really good job, and you'll wonder why it ever got stuffed in the nettles.
You'll vow to use it in decent conditions this autumn, and see what it's really capable of.

Then it won't get used again for twenty years, because it isn't shiny, cost thousands per meter width, need 300hp to pull it, and there's no Isobus connection!
I love using mine cant see why they aren't loved except they look a bit daft behind a quad trac

I don't think they are much cop when it's wet. Does a cracking job though, but tractor needs to be on wideish tyres or you get a wheeling that can pass under the front levelling bar.

Mine used to pivot on a ram and run around on the rear packer- I'm sure at some stage it could be end towed on a low loader as the drawbar had a winch contraption type thing on it but I drove it everywhere across fields on it's packer (steady) and over time most gateways were widened to get in. It was 4m and never ceased to amaze me how much dirt it would move. As someone who had been given the job of powerharrowing in days of yore as you can imagine working a toptilth was a nice surprise- even the ride wasn't too bad at times.

Well we have every bit of kit imaginable in the shed...and today we decided to get the pigtail drag Harrow out of the nettles. Luckily we had some points and tines in the back of the shed
So it’s ready to go tommorrow !!!
Sumo will bring too much wet st!te up, carrier will just compact it , triple K not heavy enough, culti press would probably sink into the ground it’s so heavy and ploughing/powerharrow a bit too much
I’ve never known this thing get used in probably 20 years !!! Farm worker said he used to pull it on a MF1200 back in the day
Ha ha
:-(
Sometimes the old gear just works! I remember using a locally produced Perry -Jeffes one in the mid 70’s as a student both autumn and spring work. This was the same chap as the famous Perry bale loader!!
