Resorted to the “Nettles” Drag harra

Well we have every bit of kit imaginable in the shed...and today we decided to get the pigtail drag Harrow out of the nettles. Luckily we had some points and tines in the back of the shed
So it’s ready to go tommorrow !!!
Sumo will bring too much wet st!te up, carrier will just compact it , triple K not heavy enough, culti press would probably sink into the ground it’s so heavy and ploughing/powerharrow a bit too much
I’ve never known this thing get used in probably 20 years !!! Farm worker said he used to pull it on a MF1200 back in the day

Yup, done the same. Only way to get the ground to dry out is to rip it up.
I'm quite used to using 1970's implements though....

It'll do a really good job, and you'll wonder why it ever got stuffed in the nettles.
You'll vow to use it in decent conditions this autumn, and see what it's really capable of.

Then it won't get used again for twenty years, because it isn't shiny, cost thousands per meter width, need 300hp to pull it, and there's no Isobus connection!

Pulled up acres and acres of stubble in the 80’s with one exactly the same, badged up as an MF23 I believe. Had it on an MF 2680.
It was still in use in the late 90’s but with an extra couple of rows of smaller tines added to an extension at the back.

Yup, done the same. Only way to get the ground to dry out is to rip it up.

We got old drag re pointed other week and hitched her up to 7840 today as they are only brackets would fit. Done a great job twice over

We've had ours ripping up winter wheat today, it's a hydraulic folding Cousins 4.6m which had a transport width of about 4.2m when we bought it. It is now manual unfold but 3m on the road. It also needs a ratchet strap to stop the wings bouncing in work, but perfect for today's conditions.

I'm in the flexitine fan club, we've been opening up stale ploughing & Trio'd ground with ours in front of a combi-drill
Ours has a Reekie tine type levelling Harrow at the back
Probably the most versatile cultivator ever invented

12-38 as per original presumably. Also came on 14 - 34 Lovely bit of kit. Wonder if he has a diamond plough to make the set

I will try to get one in next few days. Have a farm with a 6 metre top tilth chipping the top before a Vaderstad. Just been and bought a second pre-used machine this week.

Fantastic. On my first job after college the boss bought a brand new 6 m MF30 at the Royal Show in iether 1984 or 1985, cannot recall which. We pulled it with a Renault 103 2 wheel drive. The folding transport wheels were such an improvement. Also ran a 4 metre. And a 4 metre Carrier. Goodness those were the days.
