Also how is the fendt progressing @REStracTORATION?
No progress in the last two months due to the weather. The wheels need to be painted, the fender extensions need to be repaired. Its losing a lot of oil where the exhaust manifold meets the head so the plan is to take the head off and get it refurbed do the valve stem seals etc.I keep meaning to update here just waiting for the cab to go back on the 614 then I will update we are priming on Monday so hopefully cab on by end of next week.
So I should be able to have a nice picture update.
Anybody who wants to add pictures to this thread is most welcome,

Yeah the 1255. I don't really mind as im going to repaint the head while im at it. I painted it with the turbo in place the first time so it wasn't as tidy as it could of been.Is the XL losing oil?? Strip down after paint oh dear not good and sods law
Already checked the return pipe and its flowing free. Will check the manifold studs and try it on an agitator before i take the head off. Its leaking fairly bad but ive nothing to lose by trying a bit of hard work first.Tighten the manifold bolts and work it a bit ............
Oil not running back down from the turbo when stopped, unlikely?
Could be the seal inside the turbo @Mursal is meaningAlready checked the return pipe and its flowing free. Will check the manifold studs and try it on an agitator before i take the head off. Its leaking fairly bad but ive nothing to lose by trying a bit of hard work first.
Ill check that too but the turbo was refurbished at the start of the restoration. I'm thinking that its the valve stem seals that have perished.Could be the seal inside the turbo @Mursal is meaning
And when standing idle it is leaking internally inside manifold.
Remove intake pipe and check end float on impeller for wear.
Oh right I didn't know thatIll check that too but the turbo was refurbished at the start of the restoration. I'm thinking that its the valve stem seals that have perished.
Surely oil in the exhaust manifold will get burnt, how is it getting in there anyway? oil sucks in inlet valves and burns blue, you sure its not the rocker cover gasket? No progress in the last two months due to the weather. Ive gone and had another look and its definitely not coming from the rocker cover. Ive checked the turbo too and there's no play in the impeller or no signs of oil on the exhaust side either. The photo attached shows the leak on number the 6 exhaust outlet.Surely oil in the exhaust manifold will get burnt, how is it getting in there anyway? oil sucks in inlet valves and burns blue, you sure its not the rocker cover gasket?
