@REStracTORATION has already thrown himself whole-heartedly into this new project - he's already sprayed one of his tool boxes Fendt green:p

Bringing this thread back to life!
My next project once I finish the 1255xl.

1983 IH 733 built in France. Doors and fenders need a bit of work otherwise its fairly straight and tidy.

No progress in the last two months due to the weather. The wheels need to be painted, the fender extensions need to be repaired. Its losing a lot of oil where the exhaust manifold meets the head so the plan is to take the head off and get it refurbed do the valve stem seals etc.

Tighten the manifold bolts and work it a bit ............
Oil not running back down from the turbo when stopped, unlikely?
Already checked the return pipe and its flowing free. Will check the manifold studs and try it on an agitator before i take the head off. Its leaking fairly bad but ive nothing to lose by trying a bit of hard work first.

Could be the seal inside the turbo @Mursal is meaning
And when standing idle it is leaking internally inside manifold.
Remove intake pipe and check end float on impeller for wear.

Surely oil in the exhaust manifold will get burnt, how is it getting in there anyway? oil sucks in inlet valves and burns blue, you sure its not the rocker cover gasket?

Has the 1255 been doing light work and glazed up or maybe worn valve guides we have a couple of older tractors oily round the exhaust manifold and I always think it’s cause they never do a good days hard work

Ive gone and had another look and its definitely not coming from the rocker cover. Ive checked the turbo too and there's no play in the impeller or no signs of oil on the exhaust side either. The photo attached shows the leak on number the 6 exhaust outlet.
