Has anyone ever retro fitted an air brake kit to a grain trailer? Is it straight forward or but if a compromise. Got a newer tractor with air and 50k. So wondering if I should upgrade the trailer braking system.
If the axles are up to it , it is very straight forward , best company to buy a kit from is Erenrek, , We have done loads over the yearsHas anyone ever retro fitted an air brake kit to a grain trailer? Depends on what brakes it has, if it's got the silly 50mm wide Agri setup with single rams you're probably wasting your time as the shafts aren't strong enough and the shoes aren't big enough to help much.
If it's full commercial 10 stud with S cams you'll be golden.
Cheapest way to rectify little brakes is to throw a pair of used artic trailer axles under it.
