Been pondering that since 85, end conclusion here is new Triton/L200 4WD auto , flat deck, bull bar and possibly ECU remap, given we get only a 10 warranty for the price what else is there to consider and what other manufacturer will match it?
Depends what your usage is. 10 years ago place I worked was running tritons on spud farms. Doing reasonable km but on sand and in and out of muddy pivots daily. It cost considerably more in repairs and maintenance to keep the things going that what the finance was.

things may have changed but I’ll never own a triton of my own. We changed to hilux at the time and never looked back

My daily driver that get used everywhere from on farm to the city and all over NZ from the Cape in the North to Bluff in the south is a 36 year old L200 4WD that only ever went back to the main dealer once to be serviced back in mid 1985.
Plenty of Tritons used here in this part of the world with no more issues than other competitors utes.

That’s fine then but my experience is different and when a service was 2k 5 times a year it leaves a bad taste

Well for the record I must own the only recent model ford ranger that works properly. 3yo and been as good as gold, it’s predecessor wasn’t as good mind

If I was in the position that the op is in then I certainly would not be letting the nosey baskets on here who seem desperate to know what brand of pickup is being replaced, until I had the new vehicle parked in my yard!!

At the end of the day the make of the vehicle is of no consequence because numerous people have complained about the supplying dealer of their vehicle in various places of this forum. What matters is that the vehicle in question is being sorted to the satisfaction of the OP. A dealer that you lack confidence in is not necessarily the manufacturer's fault, is it?
