Soil type ? Steep land ? Full set of disks ? Auto reset ?

Should handle 5 easily. At least tractors would back in the day. I've 100hp on my 4 furrow. Just one rear disk, and shearbolt though.

Depends on the plough tho,I have a case maxxum 115 which is same wheelbase as a 6 cylinder which will just carry a Kuhn 122 4f auto reset,no way would it handle 5f.Already has weights on it.

Hi Mahammad.
You kindly sent me some pictures of your land and NH tractor which I think everybody would like to see.
Your tractor will handle a 5 furrow reversible plough.

I’m sure that many other TFF members would love to see pictures of your farm and be very interested in seeing how you farm it. Including the livestock.

Bear in mind easily coping with 4 furrows is often quicker than struggling a little with 5.
Good point. I’d go for a hydraulic Vario-width every time. Covers all situations.
A vari-width 5 furrow, opened up wide covers more ground that a fixed 6 furrow.
Same applies to a 4 and 5.
Not so long, therefore stresses the 3 point linkage far less.

Iv a heavy 4 furrow with full discs, skimmers and combi wheel at the rear and hydralic release. It is a big lift, the 1455 knew it was on her alright with full set of weights

My dad always said load light and go quick. With 4 furrows you’ll be cruising along in tougher conditions but might find 5 a drag. In clay a full set of discs will help it pull easier I found just heavier. Interested in seeing those pictures too. Never really imagine Iraq and farming but we all have to eat.

Get a 4+1 plough then you can take a furrow off when struggling and use it as a 4 furrow, then in easier going or if you get a bigger tractor you can use it as a 5 furrow

I think Mahamad is in Kurdistan which is North of Erbil. Rolling countryside.
But even down on the valley between Baghdad and Basra there is masses of irrigated farmland. Both flood and pivot. Must be a bugger trying to fix a pivot with skuds flying around.
