Reversing Camera For Combine

Hello,

We have recently aquired a TX34. We have only really used it once at the tail end of this year for doing a small 8 acre field of beans, which was about 70% weeds... which it did well. However, while i was driving it for this i noticed that a combine is a lot harder to reverse than a tractor as there is no big window and you cant see whats behind you! So does anybody know of any good reversing cameras that I could fit to the TX, preferably wireless because i have no idea how i would run a cable into the cab.

Mirrors are also available! 😀
mirrors are all well and good, but there is the small problem of the huge great combine in the way of them! It is extremely dificult to see where the back of it is, and how close you are to reversing into the tree or telegraph pole behind you... The bloke who used to do our combining (with a dominator 118 SL Maxi, before it was killed by a large stone..) had one fitted to the back of that, and he said that helped a lot.

I’ve got a camera on mine one behind and one in the grain tank. I hardly ever use the reverseing one only when I’ve got the header on really usually can’t see much anyway as it’s so dusty. U get used to using the mirrors

They are worth of watching, there is a reversing camera on a lorry that I drive, and when you are driving forwards it shows what's being perfectly, but when you put lorry in reverse it shows the picture the opposite way around for some reason

I had a wired one on my TX66 cables through top of straw walker hood then anlong under right hand gaurds. Just cable tried it in place. Through a small hole in floor into righthand side of cab.

Can't see a tx30 series being difficult to hard wire.

Not got round to doing my cx yet☹

Had a wired one in our previous TX68+ and in the current CX8080. Easy to wire along RHS under guards and enter cab. If you can't get into cab use the big window on the rhs of cab on tx's You will not damage the cable between glass and rubber on a big window.
Have heard that some wireless cameras can suffer from interference on combines.

We put a wireless one on our cx760, it was hopeless as soon as the combine started working, kept losing signal. changed it for a wired one works perfect.

When brother puts his landrover in reverse when near my barn, he gets a view of my grain tank on his screen.

I just run mine through the rh window, never been a problem with dust, the odd spider web. Keep meaning to stick one on the unloading auger as we keep the silage trailers built.

Didn't realise the TX had a side door/window too like the CX. Most of my cables come through there, but some come up the cab pillar and others through the cab floor.

Have a reservingcamerasuk kit with one camera on the straw hood, and a 2nd on the right hand mirror arm looking down at the tyre for navigating tight gateways! Will be putting one in the tank this winter. 7inch 4 input screen.

Wouldn't be without them..

Got one of these on the back of the trailed sprayer. It was easy to fit and we use it to monitor the spray pattern so it’s permanently ‘on’ not just for reversing.

Similar to @Fergieman on a TX I drove through the side window. but had 1 on each rear corner with a sheet of metal above to stop sun glare. Worked very well on ridiculously narrow lanes etc I could go everywhere by myself. Also put a big LED light on the back ( on the panel that the blockage sensor is mounted on) Made driving/reversing through villages with cars everywhere and poor roads easy in darkness
