Taking an HGV or any other large cumbersome vehicle onto the road these days is like walking through a room filled with kittens, where if you step on one you are fudged.
I don't understand why the workers of this country are continually persecuted while others are treated more like children.
At the minute it is like running the gauntlet as it is with runners, cyclists and horses, if they are allowed even more scope to litigate against you, then I fear we may have to stay at home.
What do you do when on a single track road, a runner comes round the corner towards you and they keep on running, refusing to stop or stand in to let you pass?
I have had to practically ditch the pickup on many occasions esp since lock down, while the runner carries on as though you aren't even there!!
When I was young, my mother always told me that if you hear a car coming stand in! Common sense if you value your life I'd have thought.
I got stuck behind a runner yesterday with a load of straw fastrac single track I couldn’t believe he kept running for about a mile ! Selfish barsteward I was shocked never had that up here before I suspect he was a holiday maker but unreal folk these days are just horriblewould took him 5secs to stand in the side but no no .

There are going to be more UK holiday makers now.
Might have to go back to a fiat with a 30k box and a loud exhaust .

Someone was reversing or trying to here yesterday kept going up the bank ,was quite amusing after the 4th attempt the other car squeezed through .Surprisingly was a bloke driving!!!

I don't mind that to be fair. Moving cows and sheep on the road should be on there too

The trouble is this is the UK rather than somewhere like The Netherlands. Here we only focus on "rights" such that they are and elsewhere they look at rights and obligations. You walk past a sign that warns you of an unprotected hole in The Netherlands and you are just as responsible ...............
Ja, low tolerance to klootzak's in the Netherlands🙄

Ironically a sign that I literally walked past...😉

And caravans !

For my sins I have to admit to taking a 30 year old caravan on a 6000 mile jaunt around Europe 2 years ago however on no occasion did I ever hold up an HGV.

(Preparation included new tyres, brake shoes, brake cables, towing damper and wheel bearings)

Funniest moment was at a crowded caravan and camping park near Ljubljanica when two of the attendants were having a bad day and one of them specifically directed me (and the caravan) down a newly formed dead end around a couple of "S" bends with overhanging awnings set up on both sides, the initial look of sheer despair on the face of his mate was priceless .......

Not as priceless though as the looks of astonishment, then the big grins and thumbs up I received from both of them as I reversed to the main drag on the site without even dipping the clutch.

Despite the new wheel bearings one of them managed to "let go" on the way back to Calais near Spa the the day before the Formula One GP. RAC European Cover paid for the recovery and a night in a Chateau and we were only delayed by 24 hours ;) Which reminded me why I had allowed an extra day around Hauts de France.

It would be really good if anyone who has to move livestock along or across the road at any point could respond to this and ensure that we are not forgotten please.

This consultation might give some cyclists an even greater sense of superiority, we have problems with some of them thinking they can just ride through the cows (cue stampede 400m up the lane to a busy road).
Thanks

We are now getting this behavior here in North Norfolk.

One thing i try never to do and detest , people swearing at others on the road ,no one is a perfect driver and we all make mistakes , but some go out of the way to make others look stupid and very vocal about it,perhaps they are Mr Perfect indeed

I'd agree with that. So many of these YouTube idiot driver dash cam compilations, you watch and half the time you think yep you could easily have anticipated that and worked with the other driver but oh no loads of horn and swearing even when the only person that can likely hear the swearing are his passengers !
