United Auctions has announced the appointment of Richard Henderson as a director to the company’s executive team.
Henderson is one of the main sheep auctioneers at the Scottish livestock auctioneering firm and is a fellow of the Institute of Auctioneers.
The company said that his promotion “reflects United Auctions’ commitment to nurturing leadership talent from within the business”.
With 36 years of experience in auctioneering and the red meat industry, Richard Henderson joins a board that already includes managing director George Purves, group directors Christopher Sharp, John Roberts and Donald Young, and sales director David Brown.
Commenting on the appointment, United Auctions’ managing director George Purves said:
“His knowledge, skills and experience across the agricultural sector will be a huge asset in helping to steer the strategic direction of the business as well as further strengthening and growing the company,” he said.
The appointment of Henderson is part of a broader strategy by the livestock auctioneering firm “to develop and promote leadership from within, ensuring continuity and sustained business growth”.
United Auctions operates a network of auction marts throughout Scotland including Stirling; Huntly; Lairg; Dalmally; Tiree; Islay; South Uist and Oban.
The company conducts auctions of both commercial and pedigree livestock, including the world-famous Stirling Bull Sales.
